From throwing baby showers...to packing clothes...to shopping for socks...to praying...to visiting...to calling and emailing...to updating...to contacting family...to driving a LONG way to show you care. We sincerely appreciate all of your support. We have such a great family ;)

Ryan's Results
Thank you all for your prayers. I really appreciate the response.
Here's the scoop: Ryan has a blockage in his small intestine. It's tricky because it's the small intestine, which is above the large one and higher up- so it's hard to get to. The doc perscribed miralax, which is some kind of laxative. If his belly is still distended after two days with this medication, they'll do an ultrasound.
Best case: the meds work and all is well.
Worse case: the meds don't work and they have to go in and remove it surgically (cause it'll start to squish the organs).
His first dose of medication was yesterday afternoon and since then, he's 'gone' twice BUT his tummy is still huge and hard, so we're still wondering...
What's weird is that he has had diarrhea for about a week now so it's odd that there's a blockage. BUT, the doctors tell me that sometimes there can be a blockage and the diarrhea is just slipping by it- sorry to be so graphic.
The eyelid swelling: I guess some people show water retention differently and Ryan's is in his eyes. Weird, but 'normal'.
The vomitting: He's throwing up because his stomach is so full and there's no where else for the food to go.
So that's pretty much it for now- thanks again for your prayers and I'll keep you posted...
ps- his little preschool buddies have been dropping in to check on him...and giving him get well cards, etc. HOW CUTE IS THAT???? :)
